1st: I'll second the call for unending thanks for the work you have done, Heads and those yet-to-become-heads are eternally in your debt.

2nd: You actually read some of our "stuff" (going over the majority of the last few days' output, "stuff" is perhaps too kind a word)? Kudos to your iron constitution. Many a lesser man has been driven insane by reading even a little of the offal we produce here.

Thanks Charlie! This show has my all-time favorite version of Playing In The Band on it, the one featured in The Grateful Dead Movie. Nice to hear the whole show in such fine quality!

Amen CM. It beats the shit out of those official RHINO CDs coming out these days. Those corporate idiots are back to selling a bunch on LIVE "greatest hits" albums called the ROAD TRIPS from a deluge of misc. dates.

No more Dicks Picks. No more Grateful Dead downloads either. We are bback to the bootlegs again...

I've long been thrilled by the set-II opening for this show....it's not often the whole band joined in for Seastones, and not often they'd start a set with a long open-ended jam. I also love the little space after Wharf Rat. They were pretty loose that evening!
A very similar show is 9-11-74 in London which I'd strongly recommend, with a similar set: Phil & Ned 40:37> Eyes of the World 19:19 >space 5:27 >jam 6:28 >Wharf Rat 10:50.
And I also like the Seastones from 9-21-74 where Garcia joins in for nice space jamming, which was included in the Taper's Section for that week.
The book Conversations with the Dead has an excellent interview with Ned Lagin which goes in-depth about the '74 tour, he describes a lot of these shows.

Fuck you!

Now go register using another phony name from the National Football League's Hall of Fame archives. You'd think these archive people would get wise to an idiot, who masquerades as a dozen football heroes by now...
